If you enjoy eating out, then Pattaya is undoubtedly the place for you. With so many restaurants to choose from, it’s possible to eat at a new venue every night of the year. There’s varied cuisine from around the world with prices to suit most budgets. Within this range of gastronomic delights, some fine dining venues would proudly stand alongside those to be found anywhere else in the world. Here now are six of the best.
Caprice at The Royal Cliff Hotel
When looking at restaurants in Pattaya it is generally the stand-alone variety that is listed, yet there are many excellent examples to be found within the city’s 5-star hotels. The Royal Cliff Hotel, Pratumnak, has 11 restaurants from which to choose. Indeed, the jewel in its crown is the Caprice, honoured with Thailand Tatler’s Best restaurant and Wine Spectator award is well worth a visit.
Au Bon Coin
Again in Pratumnak but somewhat more difficult to locate is Au Bon Coin. Situated in Soi 9 connecting Sois 5 & 6 on Pratumnak Hill, this superb little French restaurant is a well-kept secret although extremely popular with serious Pattaya foodies. To avoid being disappointed or confronting a frustrated chef Jose when you arrive without a reservation, be sure to book first.

L’Auberge
This restaurant was previously at a more sleepy location on Pratumnak Hill but since moving to its new home on the dynamic 3rd Road in Pattaya L’Auberge hasn’t looked back. The restaurant’s loyal following regularly comes to enjoy authentic French cuisine from a French chef and owner. The lunchtime and 4-course specials are at value-for-money prices that are hard to beat. Then on Sundays, the amazing cheese buffet at L’Auberge is the best in town with a delicious selection of cheese and cold cuts imported directly from France.
Gian’s
Guido, the owner, head chef and heart and soul of Gian’s has been in Pattaya for 15 years. Originally hailing from Rimini he spent 20 years in Hong Kong in the heady world of designer fashion, before arriving at Thappraya Road, Jomtien. His restaurant where he eats every day is a personalised tribute to Guido’s beloved homeland, and his pure Italian food is made from the best ingredients that he selects personally.
Café Des Amis
In Jomtien off Thappraya road is Café Des Amis which has been a Pattaya go-to for over ten years. An elegant restaurant with a calm, low key ambience, the dress code is somewhat on the smart side of smart casual. Particularly good for steaks the restaurant prides itself on having the finest selection of imported beef and meat in Pattaya. It’s also rather pleasant after your meal to enjoy your coffee or cocktail in the romantically lit garden terrace.

Casa Pascal
Located at the southern end of Pattaya Second Road, Casa Pascal is another of the well-known fine dining restaurants that are located in Pattaya. The ambience is far more relaxed than many of the others that make the list but that certainly does not suggest that it is of any lesser quality. This restaurant offers Asian and European delights all prepared by highly trained chefs who use only the finest ingredients. Reservations are definitely recommended as this is an extremely popular venue.
Ronin Japanese Restaurant
Many of us have visited The Centara Grand Mirage in the Naklua district of Pattaya, but not all know that Pattaya’s finest Japanese restaurant Ronin is just to the side on Soi 16/2. The delightful exterior alone will be enough to tempt you in, and once inside this chic restaurant, you will marvel at the presentation of exquisitely prepared Japanese food. Even though this is a destination restaurant, it has many loyal fans, so booking is highly recommended.
