Pattaya is a great place to live and visit, but one thing that makes it appeal to so many Thais is that it is so easy to get to other parts of the country direct from Pattaya. Here are the places where you can catch a bus to other areas of the country.
Bangkok
From the Roong Reuang Bus Station on North Pattaya Road, it is possible to get a bus to Ekamai, Mor Chit and Sai Tai. The buses leave every 30 minutes or so and start running at 4.30 am with the last bus departing at 11 pm. From Mor Chit you can get buses to many other parts of the country including the provinces in the northwest of the country.
Suvarnabhumi Airport
You can get a bus to Suvarnabhumi airport with Bell Travel from the bus station on North Pattaya Road (they will pick you up from your hotel or residence) as well as from the bus terminal on Thappraya Road in Jomtien. The buses frequently run throughout the day. It is advisable to allow two hours for the journey, although it is usually less than this.

Rayong
Again from the bus station on North Pattaya Road, it is possible to take the “Yellow Bus” to Rayong. This convenient if you are planning a weekend away in Koh Samet or you would like to see some unspoilt beaches.
Hua Hin
From the North Pattaya bus station, you can get a bus to Hua Hin. The buses run approximately every three hours, but it is worth checking before you travel as times can vary. The prices are very reasonable, although the journey does take nearly five hours. Alternatives such as the ferry may be more appealing.
Samui
Every day there are two buses from the North Pattaya bus station to Samui. Again, it is worth checking the times as they are subject to change with the time tables being extraordinarily vague and only give approximations on departure times.
Chiang Mai
There are several buses to Chiang Mai running throughout the day from the Nakhon Chai Air bus station on the Sukhumvit Road in Central Pattaya. The Gold Service or VIP buses leave at night time travelling throughout the night. The prices are very reasonable although the coaches can get very cold due to the air[PL1] conditioning.

Phuket
A daily bus runs at 5 pm from the Sawadee Tours office, just off Pattaya Klang, to Phuket. It is worth paying extra for the VIP seats as the journey takes approximately 16 hours. It is advisable to book early as there is usually a high demand.
North and North-East Thailand
From the bus station on Sukhumvit Road, it is possible to travel to many places in the northeast and north of Thailand. Destinations include Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sisaket, Buriram, Surin, Chiang Rai and Mae Sai. From many of these cities, it is possible to get onward buses to other areas of the country.
