Healthcare in Pattaya has come along leaps and bounds in the last decade or so and now the city has three excellent private, international hospitals. Of course, they cater for different budgets but all have English speaking doctors and nurses along with all the medical equipment that you would expect. Naturally, for minor ailments, you will find a wide selection of local clinics along with pharmacies with qualified pharmacists who can offer helpful suggestions and help you to get on the road to recovery as quickly as possible.
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is arguably the best of the three private hospitals and is found on the Sukhumvit Road near the North Pattaya Road turn. This is an excellent hospital but also has price tags to match, especially if you have private medical insurance. The facilities that are available would be the envy of many hospitals around the world and the private rooms are more akin to a five-star hotel than a hospital. Popular with those travelling to Pattaya with medical tourism very much in mind, the Bangkok Hospital has excellent dental and cosmetic surgery departments.
Should you require an ambulance, the hospital also has state-of-the-art vehicles that come complete with all the latest, modern equipment and are manned by doctors and nurses. This is probably the best hospital in Pattaya to visit if you are suffering from anything serious and indeed some of the other hospitals transfer patients here simply because the facilities are better. Numerous different languages are spoken so communication with the medical teams is very straightforward providing you with that extra peace of mind.

Pattaya International Hospital
Pattaya International Hospital is located on Soi 4, Pattaya Beach Road and is another high quality hospital although doesn’t have quite the same facilities as the Bangkok Hospital. Considerably cheaper than Bangkok Hospital, this is often the hospital of choice for those suffering from less serious conditions although nonetheless require hospitalisation. The standard of English is excellent although this is not the case with all other languages.
Once again, the quality of rooms and the care that you will receive is superb and you can be confident that you are in the correct place for receiving treatment. As many people only have inpatient medical insurance this is a hospital that you should consider if you are footing the bill yourself.
Pattaya Memorial Hospital
Pattaya Memorial Hospital is located just off Pattaya Klang, close to the junction with Pattaya Second Road. This is the cheapest hospital by some margin and is understandably popular with Thais. The facilities are very good but not of the same standard as either of the other two aforementioned hospitals. English is widely spoken, especially the doctors although some of the nurses don’t possess the same skills.
If you need treatment and you are on a budget, either through your insurance company or if you are paying yourself, this is arguably the ideal hospital to choose. However, be aware that in more serious cases you may be transferred to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.
