Golf in Pattaya is considerably cheaper than what you are probably used to back in your home country. As we enter the low season the local golf courses are reducing their green fees with many now available for less than 1,500 Thai Baht a round. OK, you may have to be selective on the days that you play and you may have to book through certain websites but a round of golf on a championship standard golf course for less than 1,500 Thai Baht represents great value. Below are just 8 courses that fit into this category.
Plutaluang Navy Golf Course
Plutaluang is a well-established, mature course having been open for around 50 years. It consists of 36 challenging holes and is renowned for having a small lighthouse on one of the par 3 holes. The course can be found on Route 332, in Rayong close to the Sattahip Royal Thai Navy Base.
Pattaya Country Club
Pattaya Country Club is one of the closest courses to Pattaya and underwent extensive renovations around five years ago. The course is signposted from Route 331 although drivers will need to perform a U-turn if travelling from Highway 36. The course is well maintained and represents great value for money.
Mabprachan Garden Resort
East Pattaya
Close to the golf course, Mabprachan Garden resort offers some reasonable houses for rent
Parichat International Golf Links
Parichat is a relatively new course having only been opened in 2015. This is a challenging, although rather short, 18-hole links style course. Although the green fees are good value, a cart is mandatory which needs to factored in. Parichat is located close to Pattaya Country Club.
Greenwood Golf Club
Greenwood Golf Club is situated on the hills close to Chonburi and is another well-established, mature course that was formerly called Noble Place. This is a course that requires a great deal of thought rather than just sheer power.
Pattavia Century Golf Club
Pattavia used to be known as Century Chonburi and can be found as you travel up Route 331. The course has undergone some major renovations and is now a pleasure to play especially for big hitters who may find some of the par 4 holes driveable. Carts are not compulsory but can be shared by two golfers.
Emerald Golf Club
Located close to the popular Bang Chang, Emerald is a very picturesque golf course. It is regarded by many golfers as being tough but fair and is definitely one of the most popular in the area. The course opens at 6am with the last tee time being 2.30pm.
Silky Oak Country Club
This is the latest addition to the courses at St. Andrews Rayong and is again in close proximity to Bang Chang. This is a great course for higher handicappers with the fairways being relatively wide and the trees not being fully matured. The course represents excellent value for money.
Private House
Na-Jomtien / Bang Saray
Great pool house with 6 bedrooms, between Bangsaray and Silky Oak Country Club
Rayong Green Valley
Green Valley can again be found at St. Andrews Rayong. This is a very reasonable course that caterers for golfers of all standards. It was redesigned about 5 years ago although the clubhouse still requires some modernising.
