Oktoberfest is traditionally celebrated in Theresienwiese, Munich in Germany and this year is being held between September 21 and October 6. It has been staged for over 200 years and initially was to celebrate the wedding of Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. The traditional festivities involve drinking plenty of beer, feasting on quality food and horse racing. Here are six places where you celebrate the event.
Alexa Beach Club
The Alexa Beach Club at the Pinnacle Hotel in Na Jomtien will be celebrating German heritage through October from 5 pm until 10 pm every night. There will be live German music, traditional German food as well as some excellent German beers being served. You can enjoy the atmosphere around the swimming pool, in your own cabana or from the restaurant’s terrace. You can be sure that you will have a fantastic time.

The Klein Heidelberg
The Klein Heidelberg on Naklua Soi 18 will be celebrating Oktoberfest with a typical German menu to complement their already extensive European menu. They will also increase their selection of German drinks during the celebrations. As always, there is likely to be a large German contingent in the restaurant enjoying the events. Sadly, no music or other special activities are scheduled with fewer than usual German tourists in the city this year.
The Pullman Hotel
The Pullman Hotel on Naklua Soi 18 will once again be celebrating Oktoberfest Festival. They will be serving a Bavarian-themed buffet as well as serving German beers at discounted prices. It is anticipated that live music will also be available, but as yet this hasn’t been confirmed. The event was a roaring success less year with people of all nationalities joining in the fun.

Old Germany is another of the German focused restaurants and bars on Naklua Road. Like many of the other German restaurants they will be celebrating the festivities, but the emphasis will be very much on food rather than beers. On occasions, there is a possibility that the clientele may engage in some impromptu Bavarian singing, although this may be dependent on the number of German beers consumed!
German Piccolo Corner
The German Piccolo Corner on Naklua Road is predominantly a German restaurant, but they will be having some (muted) celebrations for Oktoberfest. Their main focus will be offering more German food than usual with some German beers being available. In a similar manner to Klein Heidelberg, they have a strong German contingent who will be able to create their own atmosphere.
The Dusit Thani
Another of the major hotels, the Dusit Thani in North Pattaya will be celebrating Oktoberfest although they have very few specific events planned. An Oktoberfest buffet will be available along with a wide selection of Bavarian and German beers available.
