For many expats living in Pattaya, the choice of international schools is a big attraction. There are several international schools around city although the standard and indeed the price varies quite considerably from school to school. There are however 6 schools in Pattaya and in the surrounding areas that stand out head and shoulders above the rest and we have tried to provide more information about each of them in this blog.
St. Andrews International School Green Valley
Located between Pattaya and Rayong, is one of a group of four St Andrews International Schools with Sathorn, Sukhumvit 107 and Dusit campuses based in Bangkok. Like the two previous schools, it welcomes students aged 2-18 years from all countries and provides the best of international learning by integrating the British curriculum with the International Baccalaureate (IB) for Primary Years and the Diploma program for 16-18year olds. The school has an excellent track record for academic achievements at IGCSE and IB Diploma, but also emphasizes the importance of a balanced program with a wide range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities in sports, music, drama and the arts. Green Valley is set in picturesque, green surroundings amongst three golf courses making it an inspirational place to study.
Rugby International School
Rugby School Thailand is a new international school in Pattaya area with close association with the 450-year-old private boarding school of the Rugby School in the UK. Rugby School Thailand follows the British private school model, with smaller classes and longer days that integrate sport and a variety of co-curricular activities like drama, music, archery, sailing and bush craft. This new and dynamic school that offers boarding facilities and welcomes children from pre-school age to sixth form, the students taking IGCSE, AS and A level examinations. While academic excellence lies at the heart, education at RST underpins its ethos, ‘the whole person, the whole point’. The campus is located on 80 acres near Khao Mai Keao Park between highway 36 and 331 just 5 min drive from Pattaya’s Mabprachan Lake.
The Regent’s International School
The Regents International School is located along highway 36, near Mabprachan Lake of Pattaya. It is large school with well established reputation over 20 years in Thailand offering Nord Anglia education for children from 2-18 years old. It is both a regular school and a boarding school with great opportunities in developing in arts, sports and music. It has good record in achievements in IGCSE and IB diplomas.

International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE)
ISE is a smaller school located close to Burapha Golf course (near Sriracha) and is another of the International School often chosen by expat families in that area. This is an American style school that naturally teaches in English and welcomes students from pre-school age through to Grade 12. All nationalities are again welcome but students must pass an entrance test before they are accepted.
Ecole Francaise Internationale
The Ecole Francaise Internationale school is a predominantly French school with French teachers although English and Thai are also taught. Like most international schools, there are strict conditions of entry. The school has recently moved to a brand new building will lot of facilities to Huay Yai on 9 rai of land (14,000sqm) meaning that they can increase their intake from 130 to 400 pupils. At the same time, they will also offer the English curriculum that may be preferable to some students. As with their counterparts, a wide range of out of school activities are available to pupils.

Tara Pattana International School
Located in East Pattaya, Tara Pattana is the closest of the school to downtown Pattaya. Like many of the other schools, it teaches the English curriculum and welcomes children from pre-school through to Year 13. The school has a good reputation for academic achievement and again offers a wide range of extra circular activities that can broaden a child’s horizons and give them an opportunity to explore new things. Children of all nationalities are welcomed.
