Pattaya is renowned for its nightlife but often the thought of nightclubs gets pushed to one side especially with all the other forms of entertainment that are on offer. However, that doesn’t mean that the nightclubs should be overlooked as there are some fantastic options. There are numerous “Thai-style” venues around that cater very much for the locals and are probably best visited with a Thai national if you are thinking of going along.
So, with that in mind, we have selected the best nightclubs that target the western market.
Mixx Discotheque
Mixx is arguably the best known of all the nightclubs in Pattaya and can be found at the end of Walking Street near Bali Hai Pier. This upmarket club has over 900sqm of floor space over two floors. These two floors are essentially two clubs within the same venue, one is the Rouge Club which plays hip-hop and R&B, and the second is the more modern Crystal Palace that plays predominantly house and trance music. The clientele tend to be younger and the venue attracts many international DJs to play their sets.
Lucifer Disko
Another of the well-established venues in Pattaya, Lucifer can be found midway along Walking Street opposite Soi Diamond. Similar to Mixx, Lucifer has two distinct rooms although both have similar décor in the form of a cavern one is inside and the other has a more open feel. The outer area, where you enter through, has a regular band who play a variety of styles although hip-hop is favoured. Inside, travelling bands frequently play and once again usually opt for hip-hop. Lucifer is one of the smaller nightclubs and tends to start filling up around 11pm.
Insomnia
Club Insomnia and the associated iBar are one of the most popular clubs in town. Stylishly set out, Insomnia has a large dance floor that is usually full – especially as you head into the early hours. They have state-of-the-art music and lighting systems along with stages where coyote girls dance. A variety of music is played including hip-hop, R&B, house and EDM. The venue is popular with locals and you will find that the drinks are amongst the cheapest on Walking Street.

Cocoon
Cocoon Pattaya is what would be described as a club lounge with the main genres of music being House and Techno. This is a stylish and modern venue that will appeal to the more discerning of clientele thanks to its well thought out layout which helps to create a fantastic atmosphere. The club welcomes world-class DJs from around the globe.
The Pier
The Pier is once again an upmarket venue that makes the most of the latest technology including LED screens, state-of-the-art sound systems and lasers. Attracting the ‘hi-so’ crowd, this is a multi-level venue that welcomes DJs from around the world along with the best on offer in Thailand. Dance and trance music is the order of the day and it is one of the earliest clubs to open on Walking Street with doors opening at 7.30pm.
Marine Disco
This is the venue that has been operating the longest in Pattaya and has consistently undergone refurbishment and improvements to enable it to remain as one of the most popular in the city. Marine can be found close to the famous tree on Walking Street and primarily plays dance and EDM music. A word of caution, this venue is popular with many of the local ladyboys.
